This is another excellent discovery by UFO researcher Scott Waring, and it does resemble something artificial and out of place on the martian surface.
As you can see in the zoomed image below, an odd object that resembles an old bottle can be seen very close to the rovers navacam.
Waring suggests via his blog that the artifact is around three inches in length, very reflective with a long neck, and as you can see in the close-up he's about right in his summary.
This artifact has four identifiable points of interest which suggests in my opinion, that the object is not a rock or the result of severe erosion.
If mars did have an ancient civilization on it and at some point a catastrophic event occurred it would be reasonable to assume that remnants of that civilization would still remain.
Even on our planet archaeologists are constantly unearthing artifacts from our own ancient past, its fair to assume therefore that Mars would have artifacts scattered on its landscape as well as beneath its surface, and this object could be further proof of that.
