Is it possible that an ancient martian civilization were religious, this recent discovery appears to show just that.
Even from a distance we can make out a crucifix type structure which appears to be marking a grave or tomb.
When we look closer we can see a cross which appears to be protruding out of a carved stone, i would suggest that this is a gravestone or tomb covering.
Its a shame the rover could not take a closer look at this object so we could know one way or the other, but that's nasa for you.
As with most of the anomalies found on mars we are left to speculate at what they are, but it is possible that an ancient martian civilization did have a belief in a god.
